Another very simple one layer card made with some "swinking" ( Applying ink directly from the ink pad to card stock) and a simple outline image and sentiment ! Cards doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful and convey a message  :)

Uniko Challenge #63 : Anything goes - Twist- Use a stencil(s)

 Hi there!

Quickly checking in with a card to remind you about the current challenge over at Uniko studio !

 

I combined two stencils to create today's card :

I have always been intrigued by the fleur de lis emblem , I love the shape, must have something to do with the symmetry and clean graphic lines of it. 

Up until the day I made this card I haven't taken time to read more about it. So I took some time and learned that it is  :

1. A stylized lily composed of three petals bound together near their bases. It is especially known from the former royal arms of France, in which it appears in gold on a blue field.
2. A European iris - from Old French flour de lys ‘flower of the lily’.

For my card I used :

• Fleur-de-lis stencil
• Mid-century-modern-squares stencil
• Pure-florals-chrysanthemum (sentiment)
• Wilted violet and speckled egg distress oxide inks
• Flat back pearls
• Craft foam for dimension 
• Versafine black ink
• Misti

I started off with the square stencil in speckled egg ink. It was such a happy moment when I realized the fleur de lis image fits beautifully in the square . I stenciled each row of the lilies separately in wilted violet because the format of the two stencils are not completely coordinating. I do think it was worth the time and effort because I love the end result! After the stenciling was done , I cut the panel smaller in a banner shape again playing with the symmetry of the design :)

I finally stamped the sentiment using my misti stamping tool and added the pearls... to go with the royal history of the fleur de lis !

Uniko Challenge #62 : 'Tis the season - Optional twist sparkle

 Hi there !

It is time to remind you about the currant challenge over at UNIKO ! Perfect time to share your festive creations with the optional twist of sparkle!

Here's my card to invite and inspire you to play along :

• Festive sentiments outlined stamp set (Joy & hearts and stars)
• Background builders Christmas ( 'string' ) for bunting
• Promarkers
• Strips of red green and glitter card stock

I used inspiration from Fusion card challenge to design my card . Played with both the sketch and photo 

Elements for inspiration : 

• Color combination of red white and green
• Bunting
• Gnome interpreted as Santa to include my Uniko stash

Uniko Challenge #61 : Anything goes - Optional twist : Thanks

Hi there!

The current challenge at Uniko is on the go and I am popping in with a reminder for you to play along! 

The theme is :

I made this card to inspire you to play along!

I used :

• Pure florals gerbera stamp set 
• Bright butterflies stencil
• Simply said blocks sentiment
• Versafine black ink
• Altenew inks
• Heart mask cut with my Silhouette cameo
• Rhinestones

I started off by placing the heart mask on the card base and laid down a layer of  yellow ink with my blending brush.  I then placed the butterfly stencil over the mask and stenciled the butterflies in two different shades of orange ink for a tone on tone effect. I then removed both the stencil and the mask and stamped the Gerbera flower, just masking the stem with washi tape. I finally stamped the sentiment, cut it out and popped it up with foam squares over the bottom part of the flower.

 Challenge Ends - Friday 23rd October, midnight GMT

Winners announced - Friday 30th October, 8.00am GMT
