Hi there!
I'm back with a card built around one of the sentiments from the "So Swell" stamp set from Simon Says stamp. Once again , my Silhouette cameo came in handy to add relevant elements to the design!
I made the first card, and with all the negative cuts that were left behind, I challenged myself to make a stenciled/masked version of the same design.
Take a look !
First card :
For the card above I cut the mermaid tail, wave and sun with my Silhouette cameo. I stamped the sentiment in two shades of turquoise to follow the shape of the wave. I used the negative part of the cut out wave to achieve the effect on the sentiment.
- Mermaid tail cut from iridescent paper
- Yellow and Turquoise card stock
- Altenew inks : Lagoon & Emerald
- Adhesive foam tape for dimension
- Rhinestones
Second card :
For the card above, I started by masking the wave with the lighter color and added the pattern with a stencil. I then stenciled the mermaid tail and added texture with a BG stamp in a darker shade of pink. I then masked the tail and stenciled the sun. Lastly the sentiment was stamped and cut out, and adhered to the card with adhesive foam tape.
- Hero arts Spiral Petal stencil on the waves
- Altenew Rustic Linen BG stamp on the mermaid tail
- Altenew inks : Volcano Lake & Lagoon ; Pinkalicious & Razzleberry ; Warm Sunshine & Orange cream
- Rhinestones and enamel dots

You are very clever with your designs done on the Silhouette cameo Hannelie, and the iridescent blue card is beautitiful and love the curly wavelike 'l's on the sentiment, and the second using the negatives as stencils work brilliantly, and the added stamping over the pink tail and the stencil detail on the waves are both great bits of detail..I love the rhinestones and added enamel dots to finish too. x
OH! How marvellous, I love both cards and having a Cameo, know how you did it and so admire the result. I have a mermaid tail in my files, so maybe, if I remember, I can case your cards. Love the colours of them also.
