Be like a bird

I've had this bird in a cage embellishment for such a long time, just didn't know how/ where to use it. when I saw the sketch at 365cards, I knew that this little bird  found a home.

The sentiment (in Afrikaans) reads : Faith is like a little bird, who can feel the light, and sings to greet the dawn, while it's still dark.
I'm also entering this to the anything goes challenge at sparkles forum challenges challenge-10.

A card with a nautical theme for the week at raise the bar challenge. I used the sketch  at scrapbookersparadise to compose the card.

The images come from an online colouring book, and I coloured it with my promarkers.

No ordinary bag ;)

The beautiful and very well known design of Louis Vuitton always remind me of Spring. Seeing that the chances of me owning one of Mr Vuitton's beautiful bags are very, very slim, I decided to make me one - from paper!
I found the paper here and the template here.

 I altered the template slightly and added the "leather look" finishing touches by adding some brown paper, stitched to the bag with gold coloured thread. Finally added a few brads to act as studs.
All this for the just us girls challenge, !
I think this is the perfect gift 'hand'bag for a small gift like jewellery!

Nell on a bicycle

The first time I saw this image from beccys place , I just knew I had to use it some time soon!
Decided then to use it for the pixie cottage's sketch challenge and combined it with the colours from the crafters companion monthly blog challenge, aqua and brown.
Nell just look so full of life!

Spring Garden

After colouring the image with my Promarkers, I struggled with the layout and tried different sorts of DP's, ginghams, plaids  dots, stripes, but nothing seemed to work. So I desided to go for plain pink and green, and suddenly everything just worked! Hope you like my Japanese Mizuhiki knot! Here is a link with instructions!

Rocker Birthday card.

I made this card for a very special girl... Daniélle. She's my youngest daughter.

Here they are , the light of my life! Birthday girl on the right hand side. Jolize (on the left hand side) is turning 18 in September... busy preparing for her AS level exams on the moment!
 On to my card -  I used the colours from just us girls challenge. Just followed my heart with the lay out today,  not following any sketch.

Daniélle loves music... just hope she doesn't peep before the 26th!

To start... I am so exited to begin this week with my 10th follower. For someone who started a blog only to have a forum to enter challenges, every follower is a super bonus! Thanks to all 10 of you! I appreciate every visit and comment!
 This mornings card is for 2 challenges. I used the sketch of 365cards super sketchy Sunday and the colours from my time made easy.com pretty palette no 5.
Thanks to Janna for this beautiful silhouette digi! I changed the colour and resized it in Microsoft Word, then printed it on the ribbon and paper.

A card for a special lady or for your mother... this was the challenge at the pixie cottage. I used their pretty sketch as well. I combined the challenge with the call for a Springtime card at totally papercrafts.

A male birthday card  for a friend of ours that enjoys his gholf!
I used the sketch of 365cards.blogspot and combined it with the colours of my time made easy pretty palette.

Mandala 2

For the pixie cottage's challenge I used another mandala. This time a flower, which I decorated with paper piecing. Great fun! I think to get a true picture of the colours on the photograph, was more of a challenge than making the card, the pink just seem brighter than it really is, but it is as close as I could get it!

The clean lines of the sketch from 365 cards  inspired me to make a more masculine card. I wanted to use a mandala for a long time now, so here it is (and I think one of a few more!)

Up Up and Away

The theme for this card comes from 365cards.blogspot, 3 things up in the air. I included a hot air ballon, clouds and a little bird I made with the quilling technique. The sentiment I found here, the balloon paper here, and the hot air balloon digi here!

For a very special friend

I just couldn't resist this beautiful vintage image from create with tlc. When I found this peace of vintage peacock feather and roses ribbon in the craft store this weekend, I knew they where meant for each other!
I made this card for the just us girls sketch challenge.

Singing in the rain

I made this card for 3 challenges : April showers for raise the bar challenge, the sketch challenge at the pixie cottage and the pretty palette at my time made easy.
