Kindness card

Hi there!

I had fun with distress oxides ... playing around folding different kinds of paper and inking them in different ways. The result is lots of experimental pieces lying around on my desk. So expect to see more of them in the coming days/weeks ! ๐Ÿ˜‚

 I used

  • Distress oxide inks as shown above
  • Heart cut file from the silhouette store #10054
  • Computer generated sentiment (Font: Archer Pro)
  • Rhinestones
  • Craft foam for dimension

As mentioned I created folds in the paper, applied the inks directly to the paper and gave it a light spritz of water. When it was completely dry, I flattened it by running it through my Big Shot and cut the heart  from it. Added the swirly frame (cut from white card stock and colored with a Promarker to match the pink from the BG.

I created a sentiment to go with the idea of the paper being 'touched' . Just love when the message of the sentiment get reinforced by the design . Well that's just me... maybe overthinking ... again... or attention to detail, call it what you like ๐Ÿ˜Š

Wish BIG

Hi there!

I was instantly inspired by the photo Lisa provided at Just us girls this week ! Elephants remind me so much of my home country, South-Africa, so I had to play along!

Don't you think the colors in the inspiration photo are amazing?  I used distress oxides to create a smooshed watercolor background and then stamped the abstract triangle background over it. LOVE the contrast!

I used :

  • Simon Says Stamps ~ Abstract triangles
  • Distress Oxide inks as shown in photo above
  • Elephant cutting file from the Silhouette store  #76731
  • My own sentiment (shared below)
  • Craft foam for dimension

You are fabulous!

Hi there!

Happy Saturday to you ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was considering all options for a focal point for my card... just couldn't decide. On Thursday night we invited friends over for dinner. They were so kind to bring along the prettiest bunch of lilies. They smell amazing! Just then I remembered this beautiful lily stamp from Concord & 9th.

Problem solved ... so happy to ink up this beauty only for the second time!

Hi there!

Playing at Fusion card challenge today !

I love the inspiration photo ! It immediately made me think of braided hair ... well a real colorful braid! Braid... hair...ombre ...which again reminded me of this beautiful digital stamp . I think the image also captures the movement seen in the inspiration photo :)

Christmas in July

Hi there!

I think in all my years of cardmaking, this is the second time I make a Christmas card in July! I usually start making Christmas cards only when I get the Christmas "feeling" !

  • "Christmas" font : Typewriter
  • Holly leaves : #208031
  • Enamel dots
  • Green craft foam to pop up the front panel and add just a little something interesting yet still maintaining maximum 'white' space
  • Craft card stock

AAA Card Challenges ~ Max white space (Optional Christmas in July)

The male room challenge ~ Christmas in July

Just us girls challenge ~ Sentiment as focal point
