Closet inspired #8

Hi there!

I love Cécile's sketch at Freshly made sketches this week! I thought it was just the layout I needed to make my next closet inspired card!

Another floral & stripe design... what can I say... I love the combination and find it irresistible both to wear and as design elements for my cards :)

For today's card I focused just on one cluster of flowers and not to recreate all of the pattern... That would just be too much for a CAS card 😄

The inspiration:

I used:

A little something I learned while experimenting with different layers of color on the pansies, is to not stamp the first solid layer. Just leave it out. The second and third layer cover the whole flower except for the yellow part (see my card). You can then use a marker to color that area instead of stamping it because when you stamp the bottom layer say for instance in light blue, and you want to add some yellow as accent color, you know what happens... yellow and blue makes green !

Thanks for visiting me today!

Wishing you a wonderful week.

I love your Closet Inspired series, Hannelie! A pretty blouse and a fantastic card! Using a stencil for the stripes is a clever way to keep the focus on the pretty pansies. And thanks for sharing the tips on the layered stamping. Hideko xx

Your pansies are so beautiful Hannelie. Great tip about not stamping the first layer ... thanks! Love the combnation of the flowers over top of the soft striped background. Great design! xx
