I treasure your friendship

Hi there!

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here in Abu Dhabi. The sky is blue, and it is 23°C.

I am listening to Neil Diamond while I'm typing this post. So sad to know he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and that he had to cancel his touring program. Still one of my all time favorite singers!

On to today's card... inspired by a couple of challenges :

I used :

  • A beautiful bouquet "digital stamp"  found in an online coloring page
  • My own sentiment
  • Gift cut (party set in the silhouette store)
  • Silhouette cameo
  • Zig markers
  • Enamel dots

I saved the sentiment for you to download and use :

Font used : Meadowbrook

You are so loved

Hi there!

Bev and her team at Unikostudio came up with an interesting challenge for this month!

Something old, something new... with the optional twist of LOVE .

I made this card to join the fun:

I used :

  • Cosmos stamp set ( something old)
  • Love cameo cut sentiment from LoveSvg (something new)
  • Zig markers
  • Rhinestones
  • Misti
  • Versafine black ink
  • Vellum

To create the flower heart, I used a die cut heart to mask the shape, stamped the flowers and colored it with my Zigs. I then added the 2 part sentiment, layered over a strip of vellum. Rhinestones to add the finishing touches.

  • Distress ink
  • Beautiful day stamp set
  • Versafine black ink
  • Misti
  • Silhouette to cut out the flower and leaves
  • Circle dies
  • Rhinestones

Altenew January 2018 challenge : Take 2

Hi there!

Like every other month, the wonderful inspiration photo over at Altenew sparked a couple of ideas, and I am here to share 2 more cards ... well one in this post and one more in the next post ( since I need two links to enter the challenge twice :)

For this graphic design, I focused only on the bright vibrant colors .

I used :
  • Cube builder stencil
  • Half tone happy stamp set*
  • Distress ink
  • Circle die
  • Fun foam to pop up the circle for dimension
  • White embossing powder
  • Rhine stones
  • Silhouette cameo

*I stamped the large happy sentiment, scanned it to the Silhouette studio in order to cut it out with my cameo, and in the end decided to use the cut out word without the stamped outline for a clean look.

Did you notice the 'Beautiful day' stamp set in the last photo... check out the next post to see how I used some left overs of this card to make a frame for that flower !

We blend... A Valentine shaker!

Hi there!

I hope your week is off to a good start 💗

It's less than a month to Valentines day, one of my favorite card making occasions. Mainly because I love hearts... all shapes , sizes, colors & patterns!

I found this cute design at Apex Cuttables called We Blend, and immediately saw an opportunity to make a shaker card!

I used distress ink to create a blended ombre background for the shaker element to which I added hearts and sequins. Some glossy accents were added to the heart framed by the blender's cable.

One design: Three ways.

Hi there!

I had so much fun in my craft room yesterday combining Silhouette cuts with watercolor, like I did last week with THIS card!

After I finished the first card with the colorful background, I used all the bits and pieces that were left over and created another watercolor background to use those pieces. It was almost like building a puzzle :)

I have cut an extra flower frame to use for the rough planning and positioning of the colors for my background. It picked up some of the colors from the background, and a third card was born!

So here's number one:

Number 2:

Number 3:

The collection:

I used distress inks, rubbed on a piece of acetate , spritzed  with water. and smooshed the paper onto the acetate. I repeated the process several times until I had something I thought can work.

I added a birthday sentiment from Altenew, stamped with Versafine ink and my Misti.

The Calla Lilies are a design from Tanya Batrak Design ID #208553, in the Silhouette store. I cropped the image by welding a frame to it.

I have this perception that Calla Lilies are "funeral flowers" but decided to break away from that thought  and use happy colors to make birthday cards!

Love the way all 3 cards turned out... I would love to hear which one is your favorite ?

Birthday card

Hi there!

When I saw the lovely new dies released at Simon Says stamp, it reminded me of a cutting file I had in my Silhouette library. I challenged myself to see if I can create something similar in the Silhouette studio.:)

The flower is called Fancy Flower by Tanya Batrak ( Design ID #147866 )

I created a frame for the flower in the Silhouette studio, and 'welded' the flower and frame together to make this card:

I used distress inks to create the smooshed watercolor background and added a label sentiment I also designed in the studio, using the font : Impact label.

It's been quite a while since I last shared a sentiment... so here it is :) You are welcome to use it on your projects! (right click & save to your device)

Another thank you card :)

Hi there!

Hope you're enjoying a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks for popping in to take a look at the card I have to share !

A closer look:

I discovered a wonderful source of free cutting files for crafters called LOVEsvg

This is one of the designs at LOVE SVG... I cut out the envelope and used it as a stencil to create a CAS background for the sentiment. The sentiment and hearts were cut out with my silhouette in navy blue and pink card stock.

Color throwdown : Navy, aqua, pink.
