It's that time of the year (in the northern hemisphere) ... the start of a new school year !

Cutting file from : Apex Cuttables.
For Silhouette users, I have this useful tip:
When using a cutting file which wasn't necessarily designed to be used on the small scale like that of a card, you have to make some changes. In this case I selected the parts that were too small to cut, selected the black fill option, and printed it instead of cutting it.
For this reason, I printed the sentiment, the glasses, string of the teabag, and the mouth of the teacup.
After that you are ready to assemble your card, and add the finishing touches.
I used distress inks to add color to my die cuts, because everything were cut from white card stock.
After applying the distress ink, I added interest to the books by tone on tone stamping using background stamps from Kaisercraft & Stamperia.
Googly eyes for the fun!

This is so cute and punny, Hannelie! I love that you added the tone on tone stamping to the book covers. That makes the card look richer. Hideko

If that isn't the cutest cup every with his google eyes and glasses - a real studious look. And of course there's the punny sentiment.
