So little... So much...

Hi there!

We are experiencing our coldest day in the UAE ever since we moved here 9 years ago. The max temperature was 14°C and now it is 11°C (5PM) with a strong wind of 60km/h, kicking up LOTS of dust. Not a pretty picture but oh, it feels good... like REAL Winter! 😃

I know I know ... some of you are laughing out loud now, but remember Winter here is like 28°C during the day!

On to today's card, inspired by a couple of challenges:

Up close:

The flourish was stenciled with a negative of a silhouette cut for THIS card , using distress inks.

I added a shiny pink corrugated cardboard heart (part of a pack of different shapes, pre-cut ~ from a local stationery shop).
Stamped sentiment was a freebie from a Papercraft magazine some time ago.
Finished off with a die cut butterfly and bling.

I want to thank a couple of friends for the role they played this design :

Valentyna ~ The muse who inspired the design.

Nancy ~ Who kindly directed me to join a challenge blog I knew about, but haven't joined yet!

Petra ~ My kind and talented South-African blog buddy who sent me this beautiful butterfly die ( and LOTS more ) all the way from 'home' !

Darnell ~ for challenging us to use those NBUS !

Challenges:

Muse card club: using the following elements as inspiration:
  • Layout with flourish
  • Color scheme
  • Graphic style
  • Die cuts
CAS mix up Recipe: Stamping, corrugated cardboard & my choice (stenciling , die-cutting)

Dj kard kreations ~ NBUS : {Butterfly and sentiment}

Time out challenges  ~ Inspired by the words :

'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'
(Featuring a heart and focusing on distance in the sentiment)

Simon says stamp Wednesday challenge ~ The color of  love.

Fijn weekend!

I love your shiny corrugated heart - such a pretty background for the lovely butterfly. Great stenciled flourish to set it all off. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix Up.

It's snowing here in Canada and -2C. I have to go out and shovel my front steps and path - be grateful you don't have to do that!!

OMG Hannelie...I am Thrilled you joined us at CAS Mix Up. Your corrugated heart is so beautiful along with your stenciled flourish and pretty die cut butterfly. You chose such a beautiful sentiment for your design. Thank you for the shout out too my friend.

Enjoy your wintery temperatures and wind too, but not the dust. Maybe you will have some rain to dampen all the dust!

Hugs, Nancy

BEAUTIFUL!!! I love the stenciled swirls - adds so much depthy to your design. Te butterfly is so cute - love te bits of bling!

Wow - that is cold for the UAE....but your cold day would be a balmy winter day for us! Can't complain so far (hope I didn't just conjure up more cold temps) cuz we've had a rather mild winter with only a few weeks of -52C windchill temps!

Beautiful design Hannelie. I LOVE the bright green stenciled flourish paired with the sweet pink corrugated heart. The colours are fresh and bright. And the butterfly has landed on the perfect spot! :) Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

As Susan mentioned, it's snowing here in Vancouver, Canada. Everything is covered in white and it's so pretty. But the reality is that shoveling the stairs and walk are in my hubby's future (not mine!). :) Hopefully the roads are safe for all those that have to be out and about. Stay warm! xx

Winter chill for you, but here where I live, that's almost convertable/shorts/swimming weather, lol!!! It's -11C this morning - brrrr! Hope your winds die down and you can get out and enjoy the more wintery temps. Your card is smashing!! Love the bright bold green and that hot lipstick pink in your design. Most of all, I love that sentiment. It says just the right thing. Really a lovely card, my friend. Bev

Baie mooi gedoen!!!!
