Hi there!
We are going to the BEACH this week at CASology, just before we finally say goodbye to Summer!
My (3) card(s) started off as one... but ended up as a set of three, just because I wanted to give every element its opportunity to shine, and made me realize that's what clean and simple is all about!
Lesson learned :)
I am no graphic designer, but I think today's cards shows how to find just the right spot for your focal point!
Here they are:
The first and last card uses elements which has an 'open' side. I positioned it with the open or 'face' side to the center of the card. I also think it works well 'sitting' in the bottom corner .
The second card's image works well centered, because of the rounded shape.
Images are all free clipart from the web. I traced it in the Silhouette studio to transform it to cutting files. I layered it (x2) to give more weight and added a suitable sentiment which was also cut with my cameo, using the font Meadowbrook.
A quick closer look:
Really unwinding...
Small detail like the loop of the 'l' that hugs the one petal of the sand dollar just make me so happy ;)
Love the way the 'o' fits in the opening of the shell ;)
Small detail make a big difference, so I just thought I'd share how my thought processes work!

Love your thought process on these gorgeous CAS cards. What an eye catching set x
Your designs never cease to amaze me. This trio is amazing! LOVE that beachy blue, and the white elements really pop against it. The black sentiments help to draw the eye into your design. FANTASTIC. Love these. Bev
Superb! Your colors, your "less is more", your placement -- all just perfect!
This is such an amazing trio to represent the beach.
These are ALL fantastic!!
What a great trio of cards. I like the simplicity of the white shells against the sea-colored background. The black sentiments are perfect, too, and such a nice contrast against the shells. It makes them easy to read.
Groetjes, Gerrina
Fantastic CAS designs that practice what they preach - the cards are uncluttered and evoke a feeling of calmness, which perfectly matches their sentiments!
Wowzers girl....these are amazing! I totally agree with you 110% on the placement of the images...one of those things that makes you smile when you know that it "feels right". Great color for the ocean themed cards!
I agree with Bev, you have an unlimited amount of original ideas, all executed so beautifully.
These are amazing! I particularly like the 'unwind' card with the Nautilus shell shape.
These are gorgeous, Hannelie! So clean and crisp but also really serene. I LOVE that font!
Tes trois cartes sont fabuleuses. j'adore leur simplicité et leur design !
bravo !!
