Yellow bird up high...

Hi there!

It's a beautiful Sunday morning here in Abu Dhabi... and I really hope wherever you are, you are happy and having a good time!

I sure am happy to share this card that I made yesterday. Using a new background stamp from Great Impressions, a South-African stamp company. I bought it last Summer already, whilst on our yearly visit to our home country. First time it sees ink... definitely not the last time! I LOVE the effect, and think the possibilities are endless!

I stamped it with white Colorbox ink, and heat embossed with ZING white embossing powder. I then painted it with different shades of green and added some yellow too. Very random, trying to get a variegated forest look ;)

The bird and branch were cut with my Silhouette, and the sentiment was die cut with a CREAlies alpha die.

I am linking to the following challenges... with a BIG thank you for the inspiration provided:

Less is more  ~ yellow and green

Virginia's view ~ embossing

Cas-ual fridays ~ Springtime melodies ( I remember singing yellow bird up high in the banana tree in primary school choir ... It's a REAL oldie, do you remember it, you can listen HERE )

The mixed media card challenge ~ Spring with the optional element a bird.

We'd love you to display our banner

Thanks for visiting me today!

Lovely stamp it is. Image if you staed with another stamp as well, would look like a mosaic. The introduction to your post had the aboriginal actresses out of a movie I was watching on TV just last week. Brilliant movie, such clever girls.

Ok, now that song is going to be in my head for a while. I usually sing it when the goldfinches congregate on the bird feeder, although not this time of year. I love that background stamp. It reminds me of cracked glass. Maybe someone from a US stamping company will see and make something similar.

When I caught sight of this card Hannelie I thought you'd used some new technique I'd not heard of perhaps 'cracking' embossing! (that sometimes happens by mistake for me) but no and WOW WOW WOW - it's a stamp and an amazing one! Love the effect, colours and design of your card. A true professional.
Thanks so much for sharing and taking part.

I love this card! It's magnificent! Please tell me where I can get this background stamp. I've looked at the Great Impressions website store, but can't find it. Am I looking in the wrong place. If you get this message, you can write me at kf4116@yahoo.com. Thank you so much!

Baie oulik gedoen, vrou!!!!
Groete en 'n heerlike Donderdag vir jou!!!
