Before I start with today's card, I just want to take a moment and thank each and everyone out there who made my birthday (Sunday) a very special day.
Thanks to those who popped in to wish me well, thanks to those who posted a card on line, thanks for the cards I received in my mailbox (and for those still on its way) and thanks for the on-line birthday party Bev !
Wow, it really made me feel so special! I treasure it in my heart!
My card for today was inspired by 2 challenges { and not necessarily by my mood - although there's always a small blue spot in my heart because I live so far away from my loved ones ; }
A close up :
I used a stencil I have cut with my Silhouette and sponged the heart in faded jeans and tumbled glass distress inks.
The sentiment is my own. Partially digital and partially Silhouette cut. The cut part was also treated with above mentioned inks. A few sequins to finish off the card.

Even though the sentiment makes me feel a little sad, your card is still fabulous. We all need these types of cards from time to time. I love the idea of the stenciled heart. It has almost a 3-D look to it. I wanted to let you know that I will be traveling (Germany and Italy) beginning Sunday September 6 and lasting until the end of the first week in October. I will not be able to comment most of that time (won't have internet access), so please don't think I've abandoned you! I will certainly visit your blog and comment when I can. I have loved all of these hearts I've seen in blogland created in gold etc, but this one really has taken the cake! Your placement of the blue shading is perfect and it is the best version of this heart that I have seen. As usual your card shines Hannelie, Glad to hear that you had a wonderful birthday xx!
