Closet inspired #8

Hi there!

I love Cécile's sketch at Freshly made sketches this week! I thought it was just the layout I needed to make my next closet inspired card!

Another floral & stripe design... what can I say... I love the combination and find it irresistible both to wear and as design elements for my cards :)

For today's card I focused just on one cluster of flowers and not to recreate all of the pattern... That would just be too much for a CAS card 😄

The inspiration:

I used:

A little something I learned while experimenting with different layers of color on the pansies, is to not stamp the first solid layer. Just leave it out. The second and third layer cover the whole flower except for the yellow part (see my card). You can then use a marker to color that area instead of stamping it because when you stamp the bottom layer say for instance in light blue, and you want to add some yellow as accent color, you know what happens... yellow and blue makes green !

Wishing you a wonderful week.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge July 2018

Hi there!

This month's inspiration picture at Altenew challenge provides the opportunity to create something bold ! The strong lines of the architecture made me think of the Sketchy Floral set. This is one of the Altenew sets I think work well with non traditional floral colors like the colors in Svitlana's photo .

My card:

  • Sketchy-floral-stamp-set
  • Versafine black ink & clear embossing powder
  • Zig Markers
  • Sequins
  • Frame cut with my Silhouette cameo

That's it for today!

Smiley Sunshine !

Hi there!

The inspiration photo at Inkspirational challenge immediately made me smile... and not only did it make me smile... it took me back to my childhood, remembering my kindergarten drawings where the sun always had a smiling face !

So I just had to play along... even if the sun on my card(s) doesn't have a smiley face... it has a smiley sentiment!

After cutting out the sun from my stamped and colored card stock for the first card, the negative cut just begged to be a card as well 🌞yay... two cards!

I used:

  • Circle Doodle background stamp stamp from Simon Says Stamp
  • Distress oxide inks for water coloring
  • Versamark ink and white embossing powder
  • Sun Cutting file Design ID #140093
  • Sentiment for the first card cut with my Silhouette cameo (Font : Athena of the ocean)
  • Sentiment for the second card from Altenew Sketchy Floral set

I followed this method from Jennifer McGuire to color my stamped panel. So easy and so much fun!
