Loving thoughts

Hi there!

I have a card to share I made over the weekend, with the inspiration from 2 challenges :

Just us girls ~ Word week : Water

&

Less is More ~ Colors : Blue&Brown

A closer look:

Remember I told you here that I made a blue background the same day I did the green one?

Well ... this is the blue background, die cut , to make the frame you see on this card.

Sentiment by Casual Friday stamps.

Starfish cut with my Silhouette from kraft card stock, embossed, and sponged with Vintage photo distress ink.

Gold sequins to finish off the design .

The Paper Players #307

Hi there!

We have a new theme challenge at The Paper Players this week!

Joanne asks us to include a light source on our cards this week:

I wanted to use a light bulb on my card, but not with the usual or expected sentiment .

I was looking for a different approach and as many times before, I turned to Google for the real definition of  " a lightbulb moment" .

It reads:   moment of sudden inspiration, revelation, or recognition.

When I read inspiration , I knew this must be a YOUinspire card!

you inspire

I designed the card in my Silhouette studio.

Cut one bulb in white and popped it up with foam tape over a black cut with a small offset.
I colored the white rays with Promarkers in rainbow colors .

The font I used for the sentiment is : Rubberstamp

I saved it for you to use :

Very QACAS card for today!

Remember you can use any source of light on you creations this week... can't wait to see how you will be inspired!

Thanks for visiting me today!

Going green!

Hi there!

I was so excited when I saw the Work-it-Wednesday challenge at Simon says Stamp blog for this month !

The birthstone for August is the Peridot and since August is my birth month , I knew I wanted to play along!
There's also a beautiful watercolored inspiration photo at Addicted to stamps, so I decided to combine the two challenges for today's card.

I used a background stamp from Prima marketing, stamped with Versamark (watermark) and white embossed the image.

I then added color using peeled paint distress ink (Tim Holtz).

I started off with a very light wash of green, then selectively added more green , and here and there a touch of mustard seed.

I finished the card off with a sentiment, cut with my Silhouette (Font used 'Aprillia' ) and printed the rest of the sentiment on vellum (Font used Rubber stamp).

I created a digital sentiment which you are welcome to use ;)

While I was busy I also stamped and embossed 2 more backgrounds with the same stamp in gold. I painted the one in shades of blue, and the other one also in green. They are patiently waiting to become cards... I hope I will be able to share the end result with you over the weekend !
