Earlier this week I shared my first card for this month's Altenew Inspiration challenge . I also told you that you can expect more soon... so... here is number two, as promised !
I used :
- Sketchy-floral-stamp-set
- Zig markers
- Silhouette cameo to cut out the hexagon background
- Misti
- Craft foam for dimension
- Orange card base
I recently had a question in my comments about my colored card bases . I just use regular colored card stock as a card base. I simply adhere the top white panel to it. On the pictures it might look like special double sided card (color/white), but it's not 😊.
Something I realized while I was busy coloring this image (tip coming from a total non- expert) is that the less I think about how to watercolor, the more successful the attempt ! Just color and leave the watercolors to do their work! LOVE how this one turned out.
I was once again inspired by the fact that the inspiration piece is a quilt. I picked hexagons to add interest to my design because it's the first shape I think of when I think of a quilt!
Thanks for visiting me today!

So beautiful! Love the hexagon idea!
Just had to stop by and tell you your card is beautiful.
I love how you stamped and colored your floral image with Zigs and then die cut your image with a hexagon shape. Very creative and beautiful. TFS your card and tips too. Hugs..Nancy
I also find that quilts are really inspirational. I've been to a few quilt shows, and the artistry and hard work that goes into them just blows me away. Your card is wonderful. I love the hexagons.
This is SO gorgeous! I love the hexagons and your amazing watercoloring!♥
So beautiful -- colors, stamps, design! I agree the most satisfying watercolor results come when you just relax and let it flow. A not too detailed, open line image like this is a big help in that regard. You do such lovely work with your Altenew stamps!
Beautiful and SO creative.
So let me begin with "WOW" :) Love the depth and interest using the hexagons. Good luck with the challenge and thank you for sharing.
Another gorgeous card from you, Hannelie!!
Gorgeous, Hannelie ... lovely soft watercolouring ... and fabulous dimension with the hexagons! Hugs, Anita :)
