Roses, lace and pearls

Hi there!

The theme this week at Less is more is vintage, not a direction I often take, because I associate vintage with shabby chic and a layered style of cardmaking, not so much clean and simple.

... BUT... I do think that by carefully picking colors and elements, you can succeed in making a CAS card with the mentioned theme ☝

Also joining the Cas-ual Fridays team were the theme is thankful/gratitude.

altenew golden garden vintage style

For my card I used 3 stamps ranging from very old , NBUS, to the newest set in my stash.

  • Flower from Altenew Golden Garden.
  • Lace background stamp from Kaisercraft.
  • Sentiment from Avery Elle (Petals and stems set.)

I think I have used this background stamp only once before, a long time ago. I just couldn't get a good impression before. I used my Misti this time, and now I am so glad I didn't get rid of it, and I will
definitely use it again... and again. Except for my Silhouette 😄, the Misti was the best crafty purchase I have made ... ever! Worth every Dirham, Dollar or Pound!

The lace , sentiment and rose were stamped with Vintage photo distress ink on watercolor paper.
I just softened up the lines of the rose with a fine bristle paintbrush and water.

Added golden pearls as a finishing touch.

How absolutely gorgeous Hannelie! I can't believe how different the Golden Garden flower looks stamped in Vintage Photo - I had to scroll back up to look again when you said the set! The lace background stamp is perfect and creates a wonderful vintage feel. Lovely card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)

Yep, you totally rocked CAS vintage! Love the sepia tones on the flower - so soft and pretty. And I think the MISTI has revived a lot of old stamps for people. It really is a tool worth every penny!

You have rocked the vintage theme Hannelie! Superb soft tones of colour really bring out the beauty of that gorgeous flower stamp. You really can't get more vintage than lace, and yes, thank goodness you didn't throw that stamp away because it is wonderful. Good old Misti, eh? Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx
