Hi there!
When I saw the ice cream colors at Color throwdown , it translated to watercolor in my head. Instantly. Like melting ice cream in Abu Dhabi's sun ;)
So I knew it would be a great challenge combination with AAA Cards where there's a watercolor challenge 'running' and Addicted to stamps where we are asked to 'make a mark' by using any coloring medium.
Here's my card:
I made the card below, with the white butterfly first, left it overnight, and then started wondering how it will look if I jazzed it up a bit. And so I did ! I carefully removed the butterfly, sprayed it with Scotch Multi purpose adhesive, covered it with glitter and replaced it.
I love the white version, because I think the white butterfly brings balance to the design... but, Ithink hope the peach glittered butterfly adds the wow factor a design needs ;)
I painted the BG with my Zig markers. Scribbled the 3 different colors on a piece of acetate, then added a small amount of water and started painting around an 'axis' , masked with a large die cut circle. Just moving the circle on after every stroke of color.
I then stamped the sentiment ( from CASual Fridays) and added the butterfly (Silhouette cut).
Thanks for visiting me today!
Have a great weekend!
Hugs
Hannelie

Hele mooie kaart !!!!!
Even ben ik weggeweest, 5 weken USA!!!!
Maar nu weer terug op honk !
The white butterfly card has a very pristine look, but I love the sparkle on the glittery butterfly. It definitely adds the WOW factor.
Sheer elegance Hannelie, love your colour combo and so beautifully done with a 'pinwheel' of colour. Great dimension and super CAS. thanks for playing at AAA Cards this week. Sarah x
Your watercolour background is so creative & beautifully done Hannelie. I think the sparkly peach butterfly compliments the design perfectly. Love it!
Love, love, love! Simply stunning! The focal point has such an impact with soft beautiful colours. Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards!
Wowzers! These cards are both beautiful. I agree that the white butterfly does balance the design and seems to highlight the pretty circle of colors whereas the sparkly butterfly becomes the star of the show with the colored circle playing a supporting role!
Couldn't pick one over the other though cuz I love them both!
Both versions are gorgeous! I like the crispness of the white butterfly and your colour "wheel" is just fabulous! Great use of the challenge colours.
Hannelie, I love both card! Your circles are fabulous and those butterflies are cute on them. The colors are beautiful :)
What a fantastic job you did in coloring the circle!! I love the colors and the design. Both cards are stunning, but if I had to choose my favorite would be the glittered butterfly.
Mooie kaartjes! De glitter op de perzik kleurige vlinder is mooi en heel subtiel! Mooi is de watercolor in een soort spiraal.
You must have a very steady hand to have done this so perfectly, the design is fantastic!! Love the colours and I like both the butterflies but know what you mean about the white one bringing balance. The peach glitter though is so delicious. So glad you shared it with us at ATSM this week too!!
I adore the rainbow of colours and what a cool way to flash up the card with all the yummy glitter. Thanks for joining AAA
Both versions are delicious, Hannelie ... the white butterfly allows that extraordinary swirly background to shine ... the shimmery peach one takes centre stage all on it's own! Hugs, Anita :)
Oh Hannelie...I wish I had your creative brain! I adore both versions! I like both butterflies and your color wheel is fabulous! Thanks for your inspiration!
OMGoodness, that circle of swirls is such a stunning backdrop for the butterfly! Love it! Thanks so much for joining us at Color Throwdown!
Love the background swirly circle and that sweet butterfly! So glad you joined us at CTD!
Total awesomeness! While I too love the white, that pretty sparkle sure draws your eye too!
Your spiral is so beautifully done, Hannelie. I guess it depends on what you want the focus on as far as the butterfly goes but I love the glitter one. Thanks for sharing your card at ATSM this week.
what beautiful use of this week's colors. the movement on this card is lovely and that glittery butterfly is awesome! thanks for linking up to CTD.
