Footprints in the sand

Hi there!

This wonderful poem/story written by Mary Stevenson, was the inspiration behind the card I'm sharing with you today.

Well known to many of us. I wanted to make a card featuring the last part of the story for such a long time... when I saw the little footprint punch in our stationary shop last week ( I wasn't even looking for it - it just caught my eye, as they actually don't sell craft goodies)  I knew it was time to make the card!

I created the sentiment (in Afrikaans) on the computer and  layered a few punched out feet, to give a better contrast.

I used the sketch of freshly made sketches this week.

Thanks for visiting me today!

I can't read Afrikaans but I do know the sentiment in English which is very special to me. I like the way you added the punched out feet to the card. Not only do they add interest and dimension to the card, but they also bring the sentiment to life. I have a similar punch which I always considered useful only for baby cards, so I have learned something today. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Hannelie, I wasn't sure where to send this comment as it doesn't relate to this post. I have used two of your Mother's Day sentiments that I have had for some time on my mother's day cards and linked back to your site. If you are interested in having a look the blogpost is http://craftysuze.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/mothers-day-cards.html Thanks for the wonderful sentiments that you provide for us. I have also done a card for a challenge using a Congratulations sentiment. http://craftysuze.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/peppercus-challenge.html.
