CAS-ual Friday challenge #11 (no 2)

Hi there!

Yes, my second card for the cas-ualfridays # 11 challenge.

 I found this little guy staring at the candy irresistible!

So I came up with this card...

Isn't he cute?? I found him at a free on line coloring site and colored him with promarkers.

I made a pom-pom with a nylon string and used the same string to decorate the red die cut behind the image.
The name of the font (red and white) is "candy cane" - It was a free download from the internet.

CAS-ual Friday challenge #11

Hi there!

When I saw the great prize over at cas-ualfridays, I just knew I had to open the craft room's door quickly before we start packing and whip up a card (or 2) to enter this great challenge of sweets and treats!

With the help of Chupa's sketch, I came up with this!

A close up of my candy - I used a bead - wrapped it up in some cellophane and finished it off with a rafia knot.

On a sweet note

Hi everybody!

Time for  me to exchange the summer heat of Abu Dhabi for the cold winter of  South-Africa!

Yes, it's time for our annual vacation and I can't wait to see our family and dear friends again! Living abroad sure has it's advantages but one's heart will surely always yearn for your  home country and people.

That means the craft room's door is closed in order for me to get everything prepared... I know after a few weeks I'll have itchy fingers ; )

A CAS card for Saturday!

I found this template in the Papercrafts magazine.... couldn't resist it!

Here's the pretty colour's

The brick and basket weave pattern printables are from Sprik Space, the frame on which I printed the bird digi is from birds cards. Unfortunately I can't remember were I found the image of the birds... I downloaded it a long time ago...

Happy times

Just imagine if there really was a newspaper called "HAPPY TIMES"!

Anyway, happy times for me as well, because it's time for me to be guest designer at DYSU!

For this "happy" occasion, LOTV provided this cute image and the theme this week is... Chipboard.

I used chipboard in my die cuts and punch outs. The image was coloured with my promarkers.

Happy birthday to my mother in law!

I don't think I could find a more suitable image than the one I used for this card for my MIL. She just loves everything about sewing, and she excels at it!

Mojo Monday 198

Hi there!

Another very inspirational sketch at mojo monday!

I used a vintage digi from create with tlc, printed it on my favourite gingham, and combined it with my other favourite - polkas of different colours and sizes. Added some cross stitching and a punched border, with a sentiment I created on the computer.

A bunch of yellow roses

Hi there!

After I saw the JUGS#91 sketch, I had such a clear picture in my head of what I wanted to create this week.

But somehow, the end result and the initial picture in my head are miles apart from each other... I don't know if it's the colours or what else....I'm not exactly satisfied with the result, but decided to post it anyway!

At least it's my favourite flowers, yellow roses!

The English equivalent of the  Afrikaans sentiment would be ~ Thanks a million!

Dancing round in circles

 Hi there!

A lazy long week end here in Abu Dhabi... too hot  outside to do anything, so time for crafting! Yesterday I spent the day cleaning up and organizing my craft room. At least I discovered a few forgotten items, and decided to start using them at once!

I printed the backing paper from a template I found at the pixelscrapper on vanilla coloured cardstock.

 I copied it to a MS Word document , changed the colour and played with the artistic effects just by right clicking on the image.

The digi is a freebie from pixels and icecream. I also changed the colour of the image to "sepia"

The sentiment is from scrap-a-licious-times.

The something old I used is my round die cuts, and something new is the border punch in the center of the card beneath the ribbon. ; )
