Hi there!
Popping in to share the second card I made inspired by the current Altenew Challenge :)
I used :
- Geometric menagerie stamp set
- Silhouette cameo to cut out the "DAD" - Font used : Impact (stretched vertically)
- Distress oxide inks
- Misti
- Foam squares for dimension
I started by creating a background panel with the distress oxides. I smooshed the inks on a piece of acetate, spritzed it with water and 'painted' it with a credit card on watercolor paper. I used that background to cut out the large sentiment. I cut out the word three more times and layered it for dimension. I completed the sentiment by stamping on the second 'D' using my misti.
I also used my Silhouette cameo to cut out the giraffe and adhered it to the card base with small foam squares.

I just love background techniques like this one you've shared. Too me, making my own backgrounds is half the fun of card-making! I really love the Father's Day card you've created with your inky background! I followed your instructions and made a great background for the card I'm working on today. Thanks so much for sharing!
