Fresh

Hi there!

(please scroll down for my Uniko guest designer post πŸ‘‡)

I LOVE succulents and the beautiful picture at The curtain call challenge inspired today's card.

With the help of Kim's AMAZING sketch at Freshly made sketches I came up with this design:

A closer look:

My 'succulent' is a flower design by Jennifer Wambach, Design ID #116961 in the Silhouette store.

Because of the scale and the intricacy of the flower, I chose to use the black fill option and use it as a digital stamp. After printing the image with a laser printer, I colored it with my Zigmarkers .

Using a laser printer ensures that the printed lines doesn't smudge when you add water.
Medium weight watercolor paper also goes easily through the printer. With the Zigs you also need just a little bit of water, so the 220g paper is just right!

I added my favorite butterfly, cut with the cameo and colored by smooshing it with Zigs and spritzed water on a piece of acetate.

Thanks for looking!

Have a great day!
Hannelie

  5. Seriously? I had no idea that laser printer ink won't smudge! Thanks for the fabulous tip! Hmmmmmm.....might be doing a wee bit of printing at work cuz our home computer is a 'vintage' ink jet type!

Love, love, love your cool 'succulent' and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your resourcefulness. Not one bit surprised though that you effortlessly morphed a flower into a succulent!!!

  8. Such a creative interpretation of the sketch! I could see this card made with any number of different flower images. Several different ones would make a nice gift set.
