Casology : ART

Hi there!

I am back from my holiday, and this is my first live blog post in about a month!

We had a wonderful time with family and friends in South-Africa, but it's always good to be back home, and especially back in my craft room and reunited with my dear furry friend Sugar. Boy, I missed my doggy child so much!

So... it's Tuesday and time to be inspired by a new cue card at CASology !

This was one of those cards where I knew from the first moment the direction I want to go... and to top it all, I love the result too!

Mondrian inspired birthday card

I designed my card in the Silhouette Studio (no surprise ;)

I created the black frame by 'welding' together  strips inspired by the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. I then cut the 3 colored blocks, and popped them up with foam tape on the card base with my sentiment. To add interest to my sentiment, I colored some of the negative space created by decreasing the character space, with my Promarkers in red, yellow and blue.

You are welcome to download my sentiment:

GAve kaart weer Hannelie!

  11. Wow! What a great card! I love how you did the sentiment with the touch of red and the fonts are perfect! I read a lot of blogs and I never see anyone use their Silhouette like you do. :) A Silhouette has been on my wish list for a few years now, but I fear if I get one I'll never be able to do what you do with yours. :) Just fabulous!
