CASology : Washi

Hi there!

We were amazed by all the weather inspired cards in the gallery last week at CASology !

While on the topic of weather... as I am typing here, Sugar and I just returned from our morning walk... sandblasted!
Yep, it's that time of the year in the UAE when the shamal wind comes and deposits all the sand it picks up on its way from Saudi Arabia... right here !
It means the season is changing. Not so slowly, but surely yes!

BUT!!! I am actually not here to talk about the weather again... we have a new cue card to inspire your designs!

Oh boy so many ways to incorporate washi on your cards... if you get stuck, remember Pinterest has a wealth of washi ideas!

I love the look of negative space filled with washi... and this is my card:

An a close up:

washi ideas for cards

I used one bunny image from the Silhouette online store, created a mirror image and filled the negative space by applying 2 different patterns of washi tape to the card base.
I completed the card with my own sentiment (shared below) and a heart embellishment punched from a piece of scrap covered with the same tape.

The sentiment:

Please visit the rest of the team listed below.. and be inspired!

Sharing my card over at Less is more where the recipe asks for POLKADOTS! :D

Thanks for visiting me today!

Hugs
Hannelie

  15. I love ideas for Washi tape, and yours is so fun! I need to use it more often as a design element, instead of just for holding cardstock and dies in place.

  24. A perfect washi technique which I must try to remember to use. Love those bunnies and the fun patterns you used for them.
I think I would go mad if I got sandblasted. I get stressed out from sand after an hour on the beach!
