Layered stenciling

Hi there!

I wanted to make only one card, but I had so much fun, I grabbed two more stencils and inks, and ended up making a set of three cards !

  • Tropical background stencil : Hero Arts
  • Hand drawn everyday messages : Hero Arts
  • Heart stencil cut with my Silhouette cameo
  • Distress oxide inks : Twisted Citron & Peacock Feathers
  • Versafine black ink
  • Misti
  • Black Rhinestones

And all three together !

I applied the lightest shade of the two colors on each card with a blending brush, using only the heart stencil. I then placed the patterned stencil over the solid blended heart, and applied the darker shade of ink. Lastly I stamped the two part sentiment using my Misti and Versafine black ink. Finished off with three black rhinestones and adhered the panel to a colored card base.

  1. It is always a pleasure to see your cards. This a a great and effective way to combine stencils creating a wonderful clean finish. Three is always better than one, I love the different colours and seeing how effective using just a part of a stencil can be. Thanks for taking the time to join us at CAS stencil this month xx
