Case this sketch #148

Hi there!

It's time for a new sketch at Case this sketch !

Here's my take on Leigh's sketch:

The hot air balloon is part of a set by Hero Arts. An old set in my small stash of stamps... and NBUS as well! Not only stamped, but paper pieced too! While I was making this card I realised something about myself... I am a really lazy crafter/card maker. Boy this was a LOT of work! I guess that's why my cards are always QACAS !
Ok... so the polka dot balloon and cork basket piecing done the old fashioned way... but then I had to add a touch of my own. I scanned the stamped image to create a cutting file for the outline, and created a digital sentiment background .

Adding my link to 2 challenges :

Hope to see you play along at Case this sketch this week!

  8. Beautiful paper pieced card, Hannelie! so clever to cut out the stamped hot air balloon with Silhouette! or have you cut the paper first and then stamped the image on it? I should try it, too!

  9. Had a little chuckle reading this x The balloon looks 3D, great paper piecing, great cork basket and great layout. You are the master of the 'cutting Files' and as always its amazing how you've done the background. Great combination of stamping, paper piecing and cutting files which all adds up to a lot of hard work!! x

  13. Such a great stamp for paper piecing and I love the primary colours you chose. Fab how you continued the stitched detail to the sentiment frame too.

  15. I had a bit of a chuckle about your being a lazy crafter. I feel the same way myself! When I first started card making I was all about new techniques and lots of fancy cuts and folds but somewhere along the way I realized that, for me, simple is better. By the way, your hot air balloon looks simple (deceiving, I know) but the paper piecing is a fabulous way to show it off and give it some depth!
