Casology : Number

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and time for a new cue card at CASOLOGY !

                                                       

Here's my take:


50 is the new 40 birthday card

The close up is to show that the 50 is actually negative space.

Note to self : a black background doesn't show off the dimension created by negative space :0


50 is the new 40 birthday card

The name of the font I used to create the focal point is called : DK Mango Smoothie (how do they come up with all these funny font names ;)

The moustache is also a font (dingbat font ) called KG Flavor and frames ( Lots of cute elements like banners and frames!

The moustache is represented by the letter 'v' .

    This is a wonderful card for a turning-fifty male! It is so perfectly executed - which may be another reason why it's difficult to see that the 50 is created with negative space. You never cease to amaze me, Hannelie!

    This is adorable, and I love that font you chose. The mustache is very cute, and I must say I totally identify with this sentiment, and have ever since I turned the big 5 0.

    Hi, ek moes breed glimlag vir die een, vrou!!!! Perfek gedoen, jong!!! Maar vrou, ek moet jou net se wat my verspotte verbeelding ook gesien het toe ek so mooi kyk na die snor ...twee skattige voeltjies met lang sterte wat met hulle bekkies bymekaar sit!!! Maar ek se dit maar net om jou weer te vertel hoe ek jou kaartjies geniet en dit met groot plesier in die fynste, altyd perfekte besonderhede, bestudeer, hoor!!! Jou gebruik van die negative space vir die 50 is perfek en ek hou daarvan dat jy nie heeltemal in die middel van die kaartjie gewerk nie, maar so effens meer aan die bokant!!! 'n Wonderlike kaartjie met 'n lekker tong in die kies vir so 'n groot verjaardag!!! Hou baie daarvan, vrou!!!

    Such a clever idea! Love how the red backdrop shows off the striking B & W images! Cool negative space...my poor old eyes spotted that right off the hop...and yet I can barely see a street sign until it is right in front of my face!
