Thank you... again

Hi there!

During the time I spent in hospital I  just realised again how blessed I am to have such a great bunch of family and friends behind me. I was treated like royalty!
Now it's time to say thank you...  so you can expect a few more thank you cards to follow!

I made a sentiment to share: In English and Afrikaans.

Please let me know if you can use it by leaving a comment!

Inspiration for the card:

the play date cafe ~ black, white and a splash of lime
retro sketches ~ lay out (sketch # 26)
joanna sheen challenge ~ focus on the sentiment
stampin sisters in christ ~ punches and dies
the crafty pad ~ use twine
paper play challenges ~ sentiment as main focus
scrapbook sisters ~ thank you
make it monday ~ anything goes

Thanks for visiting me today!

Back with a card!

Hi there!

Why is it so difficult to get the mojo back after a time of absence? I am sure everyone of you know exactly what I am talking about!
I really felt like a beginner this morning, but I just kept going and created a card for this week's challenge at cas-ualfridays to make a card featuring banners and flags.

This is what I came up with:

The sentiment says "thank you" in Afrikaans.

I used this fabric tape I found at our local version of a "dollar store", where every unmarked item costs 7 dirham (+- $2)

Also entering :

card crafters circle ~ use fabric
scrapbook sisters ~ thank you

Thanks for visiting me today!
Wishing you a great day!

Love

Some news

Hi there!

Just a short post to let you know that we are safe home after our vacation in South-Africa.
A holiday though that turned out not to be an actual holiday...

I've been suffering from head, neck shoulder and right arm pain for some time now, and after arriving in SA, I visited an orthopaedic surgeon, as well as a neuro-surgeon. The news was not so good... I was admitted for surgery the following morning.
They removed 2 degenerated discs in my neck (between C5-6 and C6-7), and replaced the discs with bone obtained from my hip. The affected vertebrae were then fused using screws and a plate, making my x-ray looking like this example.
My weakening right arm was caused by a nerve being pinched between 2 vertebrae. The nerve was freed, and I am doing daily exercises to strengthen the muscles .
It's been 5 weeks since the surgery, and I am still wearing a hard collar to protect my neck. Still one week to go, then another 2 weeks with  soft collar protection, and another 2 weeks only when I drive or travel by car.
So... it will still be some time before I get crafting!

Thanks to those sending e-mails and comments about my whereabouts! I REALLY appreciate you all and hope you will bear with me through the healing process!

Keep safe and healthy!
Love
