Altenew October Challenge - Thank you

Hi there!

Before we get to today's card... *Happy World Card making day !*

How lucky are we to have our own official day on the first Saturday of October every year!?

I made a thank you card to celebrate this special day, just because I want to thank everyone who follow and support me on my card making journey. I appreciate every click to take a closer look at my creations and to those who faithfully comment and encourage me to make my next best card!

I pulled out one of the first Altenew sets I bought. The pretty elements in this set really look just like the henna tattoos I so often see here in Abu Dhabi . I remember when I had my hand decorated with henna on a desert safari how amazed I was to see how easy the lady made it look to create the intricate patterns with such a steady hand.

Although I have had this set for such a long time I haven't used it much... So thanks Virginia for providing just the perfect inspiration colors to create today's card!

Enough chit-chat ... here's my card 😊

I used :

  • Hennah elements stamp set
  • Label-love stamp set ( sentiment )
  • Snowing stamp ( background )
  • Distress inks for watercolor smooshing
  • Versafine Black ink
  • Silhouette cameo to cut out the images
  • Misti
  • Gold glitter paper to back the black sentiment strip
  • Rhinestones & sequins

The layout of my card was inspired by THIS beautiful card by the very talented Erum Tasneem!

Pretty stamp set! I like the look of your card with the smooshed colors and splattery snowing background. The glitter mat on the sentiment panel is a real stand out. Hannelie, you are such a CAS inspiration and I'm grateful for the day I first clicked onto your blog. It's been a delight. Happy World Card Making Day!

I've always admired Henna designs. They're so delicate and intricate. I can't imagine having a steady enough hand to create them without squiggly lines or smudges. Your card design really is reminiscent of those designs. So pretty!

I can't wait to see card two and three as Altenew's monthly challenge always seems to inspire you, Hannelie. The loose watercoloring was a great way to show off the Hennah flowers.

What a lovely image you've used, Hannelie. The colours you've used really do give the look of henna. They also give the image a rather exotic look. Lovely work. Thanks so much for joining us for the HLS October Watercolour Challenge.
