Stripes & flowers

Hi there !

Do you remember The Runway Inspired Challenge ?

I was so sad when the final challenge was announced 2 years ago. It was one of my favorite challenges because I love pretty clothes!

It's been a while now that I had the idea of designing a card inspired by a piece of clothing in my own closet... and today I am sharing the first of (hopefully) a lot more!

The inspiration piece : one of my favorite blouses 😊

I used :

  • Digital stamp, colored with my Zig markers in mid green & deep green for the leaves, light gray, yellow and a tiny bit of orange for the lilies.
  • Card base designed in the Silhouette studio, using the fill option to create the diagonal panel and my own sentiment with the font Haiku's Script.
  • Flowers cut out with my cameo.
  • Foam tape for dimension.

Sharing my card at:

The flower challenge ~ Anything goes

Thanks for visiting me today!

Oh wow.. this is stunning and so is your blouse! I have only heard of the runway inspired challenges..and I can imagine how cool it would be to create something inspired from the fashionable muses.. I'd love to participate in such a challenge.

Beautiful card. I have been following your blog for a very long time. I have a Cameo & would love to learn how you cut digi stamps, coloring book pages, & stamped images using stamps I have. Also I would love to know how to cut the sentiments that you provide with the cameo. Would you ever consider doing a YouTube video, or a tutorial on your blog showing how you do these things with the cameo? Thanks so much for sharing your cards & inspiring me to use my Cameo more.

That's one beautiful card, Hannelie! I'm mad about the black and white stripes, and those lilies are amazing. The green accents really add the perfect extra pop, too. And I was just thinking.... Maybe you should start a new challenge called "Hannelie's Closet Challenge." You pick something out of your closet, and we all play along! Might be fun....Have a great weekend. Bev

What an incredible idea! Not sure my clothes are interesting enough to use for card design, but it's fun to think about the possibilities. You're card is beautiful (as is your blouse).

Beautiful, and I must say, I love your blouse, as well! I'd never seen this challenge, but I used to do one called "Courtney's Closet" -- the mom of a new baby girl pictured her daughter's outfits for inspiration. Pretty fun stuff! I'm continually inspired by my own clothes and things around the house. Your card is an amazing likeness. I do love those stripes and the green inside.

Beautiful card!!! And great idea1 If I used my wardrobe for card inspiration, I'd be making plain colored cardstock cards with no embellishments!! LOL :-) Glad your wardrobe is more interesting!

Using your blouse for inspiration is a great idea when you have one as great as this, Hannelie. The black and white stripes are wonderful with the lilies.
