CASology : Glisten

Hi there!

The new cue card at CASology this week is...

With English not being my first language, I will be totally honest to admit I had to 'investigate' the word to make sure I get this right. I had an idea... because the lyrics of Winter Wonderland came to mind ..."in the lane... snow is glistening..."

But I guess snow is not the only thing that can GLISTEN...

verb
  1. 1.

(of something wet or greasy) shine with a sparkling light.
    "his cheeks glistened with tears"

synonyms:shine, sparkle, twinkle, glint, glitter, catch the light, glimmer, shimmer, glow, flicker, blink, wink, flash
noun
  1. 1.

a sparkling light reflected from something wet.
"there was a glisten of perspiration across her top lip"

So  considering the season of romance... this is what I created for your inspiration:

This one needs a close up :)

... kissable? I think so!

I used the free file for the week (Silhouette store - I think it's still free for the remainder of today - Design ID #172738)

I removed the little heart at the bottom, and replace it with glistening lips from Miss Kate cuttables.
After cutting the lips, I was contemplating if I should use Glossy accents, or Wink of Stella to make them 'glisten'. I find that Glossy accents can be problematic if applied on a large are, making tiny bubbles and/or hardening the card stock. So I gave the WoS a big squeeze to achieve the effect I was aiming for... and I LOVE the way it turned out!

Those exact words from "Winter Wonderland" were the first things that came to mind when I saw the cue card. So glad you looked it up, and gave us all a little tutorial on its meaning; it widens possibilities!! This is a fabulous card, Hannelie!! Love those shimmery, glisteny lips. Perfect for Valentine's Day!! Beautifully CAS, too. Bev

I wouldn't guess that English isn't your first language. Now I have to wonder what IS your first language? You're amazing with these clean and simple cards! Glossy accents and I don't get along very well, but we try every now and then. The Wink of Stella is glistening beautifully!

And now we sing "On the blog lips are glistening." Great idea for the cue word, Hannelie. To tell the truth I knew what it meant and still looked it up to get some inspiration. Nothing so far. :(

Groete
