CAS(e) this sketch #204

Hi there!

Thursday already and January almost halfway, phew, can you believe it?!

But Thursday means it is time for a new CAS(e) this sketch !

My card(s) for your inspiration:

Inks used:

For the flower:

  • Butter Bar (Hero Arts)
  • Mustard seed (Tim Holtz)
  • Spiced Marmalade (Tim Holtz)
For the background and outline of the flower:
  • Faded Jeans (Tim Holtz)

... and:

Inks used:

For the flower:

  • Sea Glass (Avery Elle)
  • Salty Ocean (Tim Holtz)
  • Faded Jeans (Tim Holtz)

For the background :

  • Butter Bar (Hero Arts)
→ I don't know a lot about all the different inks and ways to use it, and took a chance by combining a pigment ink (the sea glass from AE) and distress inks, and it worked quite well as you can see in the second card ←

The flower needs no introduction... It's from The Beautiful day set by Altenew.
The stencil is from  a South-African company Enmarc.

I masked the flower after stamping to add the stenciled dotty background.

The sentiment for the first card was die cut from gold glittered card stock I saved from our Christmas crackers ! I collected quite a few crackers after everyone left, also some in silver 😊

Yay for ♻ !

Both pretty cards but I'm partial to the second one. I do love that you used some pretty recycled paper from your Christmas crackers. We have these same type of crackers every year at our Christmas celebration, and it has not occurred to me to save the paper. Next year I will!

Love this pair of beautiful cards, the polka dots in the background really frames this bloom perfectly.
Great idea of using your recycled glimmer paper for the sentiment.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful card with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, hope you join us again next time.

So beautifully done, Hannelie. I thought of the Flower Challenge the minute I saw your second card.

I love how well you mix and match inks from different companies. I'm always wary of doing it for some silly reason. Must get braver especially if the result swill be this gorgeous!

A duo of loveliness, Hannelie ... those blooms are just gorgeous set amidst their soft bubbles of colour! Cool repurposing of your Christmas crackers ... lots of yumminess there to play with! Hugs, Anita :)

Ongelooflik hoe twee presies dieselfde kaartjies so verskillend lyk in die verskilllende kleure!!!! Ek bly op en af rol om my gunsteling te kies en hoe meer ek kyk, hoe meer hou ek van albei!!!! Albei jou blomme het ongelooflike diepte en is briljant geverf!!! Die gestensilde agtergronde is pragtig!!! Twee lieflike kaartjies, vrou!!!!
