The Lord is my shepherd

Hi there!

I have a one layer card to share today, inspired by 2 challenges:

Less is more ~ Books/literature

One layer simplicity ~ Peace

As much as I love a good book, I can't think that I have ever made a card inspired by books or literature, so I decided to turn to the Bible as my inspiration for the challenge at LIM.

And seeing that there are few words that bring more peace to my mind than the words from Psalm 23, I want to share my card at OLS as well 🌼

Close up:

I designed and printed the word art on my card, and then used an open book mask (cut with my silhouette) to do the light sponging with Hero arts shadow ink (Green Hills)

With the masks still in place, I stamped the 2 branches with leaves (Altenew - Golden Garden), and added a few accents with my lime green  and yellow Promarkers.

For those interested, you are welcome to download my sentiment/scripture.

Fonts used:

Respective
Quaver Serif

Thanks for visiting me today... wishing you a week filled with peace !
💚

Hugs
Hannelie

What a beautiful, tranquil card Hannelie! The softly inked book outline looks great framing the quote, and I think the branches from Golden Garden were a perfect choice of embellishment... subtle and understated elegance. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)

Groet, Maaike

This is jaw-droppingly wonderful Hannelie. As ever your inspirational designs knock me sideways. Your inky blended BG shaped as the open book is stunning, delicate and so so elegant, teamed with the wonderful sentiment and a perfect book choice too. Thanks so much for playing along this week. This is absolutely beautiful Hannelie! From the lovely font to the way you have applied the soft touch of colour without detracting from the quote.

As I took my lunch break, I checked my email and saw your blog post featuring this BEAUTIFUL and inspiring card creation. Your sentiment is so lovely and your sponging showcases it so well. I am making a card for my 79-year-old aunt today and was wondering what scripture I should add to her card .... Hannelie, your shared sentiment is just the perfect scripture for her! Thank you, once again, for sharing your art with all of us!

Your sponged shape is perfect for showcasing the opening words from the 23rd Psalm. This would be a lovely card to send to someone who is in need of loving encouragement.

Hannelie, your card is STUNNING!!! I absolutely adore your use of the open book die as a mask and can't believe how perfect your sponging is to get such soft color from a green hills inkpad. The font combination is also perfect...and you're so kind to make it available to your readers.

This card speaks peace on every level...and beautifully.

Thanks so much for sharing it with the OLS challenge. Peace be with you, Hannelie.
