CAS(e) this sketch # 197

Hi there!

I am here with my card(s) for your inspiration this week at CAS(e) this sketch !

Leigh's sketch was so inspiring, I made 3 cards this week ☺

The thing I learned with this little experiment, was that the colors you pick for your project , has a HUGE impact on the 'feeling' of your design.

I used the same focal point, the same layout, just different colors.

Take a look at the first card using traditional red and white like the beautiful Scandinavian prints we know.

A close up of the detail on the antlers.

The red and white patterned paper is from Mel Stampz.

The second card using black and white with gold for a modern glamorous look:

A close up of the gold glittered antlers :

...and the third card, a one layer playful look in purple and white non traditional colors, using the negative of the die cut from the previous card as a stencil. I followed the same method as I did here , this time leaving the dots blank and masking off a straight diagonal line.

I've been walking with this split panel idea in my head for a while, and I thought THIS lovely reindeer from Apex cuttables was the perfect fit !

For my fellow Silhouette loving card makers, if you haven't stumbled upon this wonderful resource for cutting files , go ahead and click the link ! Lots of free designs too!

You can also find them Facebook (Cuttable designs) and on Instagram.

The second card is linked to Virginia's view challenge (Stripes) and Muse Christmas visions where I was inspired by the  black silhouette of the reindeer and the gold accents.

The first card is linked to Addicted to stamps (Christmas Holiday Card).

Thanks for reading through to the end!

Hope to see you in the CTS gallery this week!

Hugs
Hannelie

I guess we all "know" the impact color has on our cards, but I don't think that we think about it all that often. So, thanks for the reminder to do so. Your cards are amazing. You've taken this sketch into such different directions using the same basic elements. Each card is just wonderful, and I love them. Bev

Gosh the colours really go alter the card look. Have to say I like the dramatic look of the back card with the gold....although I am a purple lover so goodness hard to choose!! Love how you changed up Kimberly's card x
