CAS(e) this sketch #193

Hi there!

Time for a new CAS(e) this sketch challenge!

Thank you Leigh for this inspiring sketch ☺

My take:

This card is a great example of the techniques I love to combine in card making.

  • Digital elements
  • Traditional card making methods like stenciling/stamping/blending .

The sentiment (my own design) and  BG panel ( Pixel scrapper ) are digital elements.

You are welcome to download and use it!

The lovely flourish (Design by Hero Arts - Design ID #6756 ) was cut with my Silhouette.

After cutting, but before removing the cuts from the Silhouette mat, I sponged it with Tim Holtz distress inks , using :
  • Picked raspberry
  • Spiced marmalade
  • Mustard seed
I am always amazed to see how a big mess becomes a beautiful focal point after the big reveal. Same thing happens when you use a stencil! (Note, I could have stenciled the flourish directly to the card base, but I do think the dimension of the die cut adds something special to the design).

A big mess...

... and then the reveal!

I hope you feel inspired to join us this week!

You're so good! I love your cards, your blog, everything! Your die cut looks magical as it emerges from the mess o' ink. Similar to the little thrill I get when I lift a mask from my stamping. Thanks for sharing the sentiment, too!

I love your inked focal point. I agree that the die-cuts add some special dimension and richness to a card. This one is beautiful!

I love this card. So elegant in its simplicity! I looked at the Pixel Scrapper for the gridded background. Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction? Thank k you!
