A special birthday card

Hi there!

Second card today!

This time it's a card I made for my friend's mom who will celebrate her 80th birthday this month.

She asked for something in her mother's favorite color turquoise, and told me her mom loves flowers. She also wanted me to include the special age in the design .

I thought it was the perfect occasion to use one of the flowers from the Brush Art Floral stamp set from Altenew.

For the first time :)

I added my own sentiment (Afrikaans birthday wish) using the font Stylish Calligraphy.

I wanted to keep it really simple . All eyes on this amazing flower as single focal point. I wanted to add... something... but nothing seemed right. Not Enamel dots. Not Pearls. Not Sequins.  So I accepted the fact that this card doesn't want to, or need to be embellished!

I used one of the flower stems to create  a subtle frame for the flower to draw the eye in to the beautiful flower.

I've been admiring cards using this kind of flower stamps for so long now, and I must say, when I finished this card, I suddenly felt like an artist! Thank goodness for products which makes it so easy to create, even I can do it!

I used inks from Stamperia and Hero Arts.

I want to share my card at the following challenges :

Virginia's view challenge ~ Focal point

Hannelie, this is gorgeous - and I am so impressed that you let the card just be itself and didn't add any embellishments at all. It is so beautifully clean and simple, with perfect colour choices. So glad you played along with our new challenge! Ruth xx

Its always so funny when you try to add embellishments and nothing works, it really is telling you to leave it as is. This image is so beautiful it doesn't need anything else and I bet it was loved, especially being in her favourite colour. Thank you so much for joining our first challenge and hope you come back again to The Flower Challenge!!
