The Paper Players #314 : A sketch by Joanne

Hi there!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The paper players !

This week is a sketch week, and the sketch was designed by Joanne... I hope you will play along!

My take:

altenew henna elements congrats

I you follow me on  Instagram, you will know how excited I was about new stamps from Altenew which was delivered at my doorstep last week.

I discovered an online craft supplier situated in Dubai, our neighbor city, and they stock Altenew stamps. This means I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping costs from far away places!

Yay!

They do ship worldwide, so you might want to take a look at Pretty Paper Studios !

Of course I had to ink up those stamps immediately... !

I used my Silhouette (of course :) to create the cutting file to hug this pretty flower from the Henna Elements set.

Kept it very simple , just adding the border stamp to frame the popped up  panel. Stamped a few dots as accents and a sentiment and jewel center to finish off the design.

Oh yes, almost forgot the gold strips (peel offs) I added to the borders.

I think the reason I love this set so much, is because henna tattoos are something associated with this part of the world where we live in. I am always amazed by the effortless way the ladies draw this designs, with such a steady hand!

To end my post today, I am adding a photo of a henna tattoo I got on a desert safari we went on some time ago.
The pigment were just painted, and was busy drying, so sorry I don't have a picture to show how it looked after the henna dried and were washed off !

After curing, the pigment fades in about a 7-10 days time.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Have a great day
Hannelie

Lovely CAS design Hannelie! I'm not surprised you're excited about being able to get Altenew stamps locally. I have a very serious addiction to them so I understand perfectly! Love the design of the henna tattoo.

Beautiful card, Hannelie! That was my first Altenew set and I still love it! Interestingly, after I lamented on your IG post about local stockists here in NZ an ad popped up in my FB feed with a local stockist who stocks MFT, Altenew, Mama Elephant, etc. I was over-the-moon. My first order was pretty boring - magnetic sheets, but I'll see how they go then they might become my go-to supplier.

Very pretty card! I've been fascinated by Henna designs for a long time. I think they are so beautiful, and I've wondered how the artists can paint them so effortlessly. Wish I had that kind of talent!

Yes...totally in awe of the talented people that can 'doodle up' freehand images like this!

Gorgeous card! Has a bit of a Moroccan/zen tangle look! The gold peel-offs are a perfect match! Thanks for the reminder about using peel-offs, as I've got quite a stash that I'd completely forgot about!

Fabulous card Hannelie, and what fun to see what you made with stamps from one of my favorite companies. I love the bold colors and your graphic style.
