The Paper Players: Western

Hi there!

We have a wonderful new challenge at The Paper Players  this week! Laurie is our hostess and she has an exciting theme challenge:

The perfect opportunity for me to make a masculine card... however... if you visit the challenge blog you will see more inspiration from the team in a variety of styles and takes... not only masculine!

Cowboy birthday card

A close up of the focal point:

Cowboy birthday card

I think this is the first time I made a masculine card I really really like!

The background is once again from The Pixel scrapper. The cowboy hat is a free clipart image, traced in the Silhouette studio to create cutting lines.

The sentiment is my own creation using the font bleeding cowboy. Awesome font perfect for the occasion!

Final touches 3 copper brads and a piece of twine, because every cowboy needs a rope!

You are welcome to use my sentiment :

happy birthday sentiment for masculine cards

I used inspiration from 3 other challenges to create my card:

Freshly made sketches  ~ Layout

Less is more ~ white space but not white

The male room challenge ~ magic/fantasy (because in my world, a cowboy is a fantasy figure ;)

We'd love you to display our banner

Thanks for visiting me today!
Have a great week.

Hannelie

My BIL would love this card - he's a bit of a cowboy. He raises cattle, owns and rides horses and ALWAYS wears a cowboy hat. Wonderful masculine card, Hannelie.

What a fun, masculine card. The one part I love best is the rope!! Of course the cowboy hat is fun too, but the rope really makes it. I love the font as well. TFS

Couldn't agree more about your fantasy figure and I can just imagine the hunk that would wear this great hat. It is possible for a masculine card to be elegant and this is it. Rugged and refined too--great card!

Volpunte!!!!

This is a really cute masculine card! I've always liked the look of black and kraft together.

I really like your card and a cowboy most certainly is a fantasy figure. Stephen King created the cowboy Roland Deschain in the Dark Tower series, which is fab. Super layout and great colours. Thanks so much for playing along with our Magic/Fantasy challenge at The Male Room! Deborah, DT.
