Fun with geometric shapes

Hi there!

What do you need to create a card in a jiffy ? Inspiration wise I mean. Not supply wise ;)

1) A theme and or technique.

2) A layout or sketch

3) A color combination

I find that when I have those 3 things in place, a card comes together really easy !

Fun with geometric shapes - octagon rose

octagon rose card - fun with geometric shapes

I LOVE playing with geometric shapes.

For my background I played with repeating octagons. I love the little square that forms (negative space) where 4 octagons meet! I just couldn't resist adding a square gem to 3 of them.

This type of background can easily be created in the Silhouette Studio!

For my focal point I layered 3 octagons (Spellbinder dies) with foam tape to create a graphic 'rose' .
The leaves are part of the daisy die set from My Favorite Things.
