Case this sketch # 139

Hi there!

I had fun using this week's sketch by Leigh Penner , and I am sure you will have fun too, so come play with us this week at Case this sketch !

My take on the sketch:

black & white - splash of yellow thank you card

And a close up...

black & white - splash of yellow thank you card

My card was made by triple masking (heart shape and flowers with die cuts and sentiment masked with the off set of the Silhouette cut sentiment) { hope that makes sense !}

I sponged the black using Versafine onyx black. I then removed the flower masks and sentiment mask (keeping the heart mask in place) and stamped the flowers (Sizzix stamp and die set) in yellow.

The sentiment was cut with my Silhouette (layered) and a few enamel dots to finish off the design.

I can't wait to see what you will create!

Thanks for visiting me today ;)

Triple masking is way over my head, but you really nailed it, Hannelie! I love the funky font on your sentiment and the striking color combo is so eye catching! Fabulous take on the sketch, as always!

I love how you cut the Thanks out of the heart shape and left a white offset border. I'm not sure how you did that, but it is very cool!

Gorgeous card as always. You are an absolute gold mine of creativity and design and a master of the clean and simple card. I hope that some day you will switch to die cuts instead of the Silhouette so I can copy your card easier. :) :) Your cards always brighten my day so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wow! That's a whole lot of clever masking & inking...but well worth the time (and planning) because the end result is perfectly executed and stunning! Another show stopper!

Your explanation of your masking process made total sense, but it still sounds quite complicated. You must have really thought it out carefully before you started laying down ink - especially the black ink. :) I do love the result. The yellow with the black is so dramatic - and I do like me some drama in a card. LOL

Wonderful, love this card. Everything about it is pefect. If you have time can you let me know the font you used on the silhouette or if it was a file? Thanks petal

I haven't a clue how you've accomplished this, Hannelie... but you've created a beauty here! You and that Silhouette of yours make a great team... gorgeous!
