Always there

Hi there!

A lazy Friday here in Abu Dhabi. Hubby and I went to the gym early morning, then out for some shopping ( ♥ end of summer sales ♥)  and lunch at a lovely Turkish restaurant. It's just too hot an humid to be outside... so inside it will be...either in a shopping centre or in the house. I really think it is the hottest day of the Summer so far with the real feel temperature reaching 56 degrees C! (132 F)

Ok ... so on to a card I  made yesterday...

nautical card - stripes- life buoy

nautical card - stripes- life buoy

And the inside...

nautical card - stripes- life buoy

My card was inspired by 2 challenges:

Freshly made sketches ~ sketch

Time out challenges  ~ inspiration picture

The stripes were masked with washi tape and sponged with faded jeans distress ink. The cross panel was embossed with a embossing folder called Asian wave by Couture creations and also sponged with faded jeans distress ink.

The life buoy and sentiment were cut with my Silhouette and the rest of the sentiment (inside and out) created digitally. I wrapped the buoy with a piece of white twine for added interest :)

I saved a digital sentiment for you to use:

always there free sentiment

That's it for now ...have a great day... and weekend!
Thanks for visiting me :)

Love the nautical design and great sentiment! I've been complaining about our heat wave all week and will stop now ;) I'm not even sure I could breath in 56C weather.

Love how you've combined these two challenges! And you've nailed them both as well!! Love the twine wrapped life saver. Just fantastic. We've got rain here, and a low pressure center for the next few days. And cool temps, but they will rise into the 80s by Sunday. Got some 'happy mail' last week before the kids came, and wanted to tell you how that made my day! Thanks dear, sweet friend. You're the best!! Bev

Ahoy, Hannelie! Love your nautical card. The sentiment is really special, too. I need to give a card like that to my DH. He truly is always there when I need him. Bless his heart!

Lovely nautical card Hannelie. Thanks for sharing the sentiment.
I'm complaining at around 30 - can't even imagine how hot anything in the 50's is!

Oh, my! I thought August in Texas is hot -- not compared to where you are though. There must be some super-duper air conditioning systems in Abu Dhabi. Your card's cool colors and the fun punch of red are perfect for a hot day. Love it! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

56 grade, vrou, geen mens kan dit mos hou in sulke hitte nie!!! Ek sou ook by die uitverkopings uitgehang het waar daar hopelik lugverkoeling is!!!! Jy't al my simpatie in sulke verskriklike toestande, jong - g'n wonder daar's net woestyn nie!!!
Jou kaartjie is eenvoudig lieflik - mal oor hoe jy die blou en rooi gebruik het, en die toutjie is so slim en oulik!!! Baie, baie mooi!!!!
