Seize the birthday... no toppings!

Hi there!

Please scroll down for my CASE this sketch inspiration card ;)

Yes, you read it in the title of this post ... no toppings this week at Seize the birthday. This means any newly created birthday cards are welcome !

Sometimes we discover things by accident... and this is how my card for today's inspiration was  'born' !

I was experimenting with stencils and Modge Podge - the one in the spray can { clear acrylic sealer } But it was a complete fail. The newspaper I was using to protect my work surface was still lying on my desk and later that day I saw the neat pattern that was left on it from my previous experiment.

And I had an little aha moment. It works a bit better on darker card stock... and I love the subtle pattern it creates. You will definitely see me using it again in the future!

The happy was cut with my Silhouette, and the b-day was cut with a CREAlies alpha die.

I added a couple of enamel dots to complete the picture.

I hope to see you in the gallery at Seize the birthday this week!

Thanks for visiting me today!

You are definitely onto something with the Modge Podge! I remember my mom using it for crafts ages ago! Love how the yellow & pink pops against that really, really cool accidental background!

I love how you were able to create the background for this card, Hannelie. I have some spray acrylic sealer (a different brand), and I'll have to try it to see if I get the same effect.

Aren't creative accidents the best? Your pattern looks wonderful against the navy...it's worked perfectly. Love the splash of yellow and pink too!

Mooie achtergrond zo!
