Loving thoughts

Hi there!

Our weekend here in the UAE is something of the past... we had a really relaxing  time on Friday and Saturday. Abu Dhabi hosted the Red Bull air show this weekend. So we went to the beach, where we had a prime spot watching the crazy skills of the pilots.

Just look at this... lovely day, fabulous weather !

On to my card for today!

Wow, this card had me thinking. Masking. Stamping. Not really my forte, but I love the end result!

The heart stamp is one of the first ever stamps I bought (manufacturer unknown) , stamped with Versafine Onyx black. Sponging done with Tim Holtz distress ink ( victorian velvet & milled lavender)

Sentiment from Casual fridays set : Loving thoughts.

I accidentally stumbled upon a stationary/printing shop that sells "perfect colouring paper". Really, that is what is called  ! I bought a pack, and I will definitely go back for more. It has a super smooth surface and it made the sponging very easy. It is on the expensive side (for me it is ) and for that reason ( and because this was the 2nd , 3rd, 4th take) I only cut a piece big enough to cover the front of my card. For the base I used my regular more affordable card stock. So technically it's not one layer, but yes all the designing was done in one layer, no additional layers added. Hope that's ok, since I will link my card to:

Erg leuk lijkt me dat... alles van zo dichtbij te kunnen zien!

Wat een mooie kaart, het schuine gedeelte met de zwarte plakpareltjes verbonden door het mooie hart!

Wow! This is gorgeous! One layer? Sure did fool me! Great job creating some awfully fine depth! Love the colors and adore this heart! It has a bit of a vintage feel to it. The black enamel dots make it look like a necklace!

Whoops - forgot to add - cool airshow pics! (I couldn't drive my van through those pillars, never mind a plane going a kazillion miles per hour!

Joe, mal oor jou foto's van die lugskou!!! Kan net dink hoe julle dit moes geniet het!!!!!
Jou kaartjie is pragtig!!! Mal oor die slim manier wat jy die kleure gedoen het!!!! Die blommetjies lyk so mooi met die glans en die ry perels is so perfek geplaas met net die enetjie aan die onderkant - hou daarvan so!! Die sentiment is so pragtig!!! Ek hou van die skuins lyn waarmee jy alles gedoen het!!! Alweer 'n treffer, vrou!!!

I can remember watching the Blue Angels when I was little and lived on the Air Force base with my folks. It was always a treat to see the jets. These planes are sooo cool! Awesome photos. This card. Oh my goodness! Soft and suble. Perfect shade of pink. The heart stamp is lovely. Really like how you've split the heart along your panels. Just love this! Bev
