I have a card and tutorial to share today.

Over the last few weeks I had a few people asking the same question regarding the sentiments I share on my blog.

"How do you get to place them on the exact spot you want it?" Well it's actually an easy one! I just make a  separate (loose) card front that I glue to my card base after printing the sentiment on it.

 Here's my little photo tutorial!

1) Copy sentiment to a Microsoft word document. Print on A4 regular paper.

2) Cut a separate card front (to size)  from card stock. Attach a piece of removable double sided tape        to the backside of card front.

3) Position card front over paper with printed sentiment. Hold against window or light box to                     determine the exact spot you where you want your sentiment.

4) Place printed paper with card stock attached to it in printer tray... check to make sure which way           your printer feeds the paper...I have to place my paper upside down in the printer tray.
    Print once more.

5) Carefully remove the attached card front from the paper and glue in position on card base.

... and here's my sentiment... ready for you to download and use!

Prachtige kaart met de bloem in cirkels, Hannelie! En een duidelijke tutorial, ik doe het ook zo als ik geprinte sentiments wil.

So pleased you did this tutorial, I've been meaning to ask you about this for ages. Will be busy now collecting up all your sentiments.

A fabulous card. My mouth dropped open when your blog post opened as i am currently working with the same stamp! I have to say I've really struggled to create anything I'm happy with. I've been trying to layer flowers from this set in a circular shape, but it just keeps going wrong. Glad to see you had a far more successful time! Jo x

Hannelie, your purple flowers are stunning, my friend!!! Absolutely beautifully coloured and I love the way you have used the circle dies. ...and I have always wondered how you put your sentiments onto your cards ...thanks so much for sharing that with us, this actually opens a whole new world to me, to be able to use my own sentiments on cards ...can't wait to start playing!!! Thanks a stack for taking the time to do the little tut for us!!!

You choosing between stamps and dies .. I think you'd choose the stamps - with your wonderful silhouette you don't need any more dies!!!! LOL!!! (we all know what a great master you is with your silhouette!!!)

Have a super week!!

Wow, Hannelie this is stunning ... such rich colours that are simply gorgeous against the crisp white! I love how you've die cut a circle from the image to create the frame! Thanks for the tutorial ... great idea for placing computer generated sentiments!
Now, choice for you between stamps and die cuts ... no competition ... die cuts any time! Hugs, Anita :)

Answer: Dies...in a heartbeat, AND, you're a wizard with the Cameo!
Your card is lovely. I love how you've cut the image into circles with a space between them. Perfect colors. You are so kind, too to share your cg sentiment tips. And as always, you're sweet to share your sentiments as well. I have a number of them in my digi files. Really a gorgeous card. Hope to play along; will have to see if time allows this week.. xo Bev

Beautiful card - as always!

Your card is just beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing the way you place your sentiment! So neat! And to guess which you would choose, I'll say dies, since you are able to create your sentiments on the computer :)

Jennie G said...

How beautiful. I would guess dies.

NanaConnie said...

I'd hate to have to make that choice, Hannelie! It's only a guess, but I'm going to say you'd choose dies over stamps if you had to make such a choice. Love the way you get your sentiments where you want them and thanks so much for the one you gave us. :-D

Super convenient tutorial and lovely card!

Kim Heggins said...

Wow...such a gorgeous card! I love how you cut the circles, it really give your card an incredible and beautiful look. I will say you would choose dies, if you had too.

Lucy Schmidt said...

I'm pretty sure it's dies. Thanks for the tutorial (you've cut out 1 or 2 steps I've been doing) and the nice sentiment. I've collected a lot of them. Your card is stunning.

Geri said...

First of all, my answer without a moment of hesitation is "dies".

Secondly, awesome tutorial...especially with the step-by-step pics!

Third, GORGEOUS card!

And last but not least, thanks for the beautiful sentiment :)

Aileen said...

Love your card and thanks for the explanation on how to use all your wonderful sentiments.
Now this is hard dies or stamps. I would think that with your silhouette and the wonderful things you create stamps would be your preference.
So I will say stamps.

Katherine K :) said...

Gorgeous card! It was great hearing that your tip is exactly how I do it. :)

Having been a follower for a long time, I would have to say you would choose dies.

Have a great day!

Kristie Goulet said...

Gorgeous card, Hannelie! Thank you for sharing your tutorial. I would guess dies!

Love the card and the colour you have used. really strong and vibrant. Looking through your blog I would say die rather than stamp. You tend to like to cut something then stick and enhance after x

Chriss Blagrave said...

Lovely card! Beautiful image and colours, I would guess that you would pick dies.

Graciellie Design said...

Oh well, I think you would choose dies, just because you can design digital stamps and you like to work with dies in unexpected ways just as you showed us today!

Thanks for sharing.

I'd say you would choose stamps because of the wider selection and because you have the Cameo for die-type cutting.

I always just love your South African sentiments - great tutorial - that is how I do it, if I am forced to use my printer.....
Now for your question - since I see you using mostly Silhouette cutting and a computer I would answer - dies!

Love your card and technique--I love dies as much as you, as I see you use them in most of your cards, as you use stamps, but I will go with dies are your favorites because they are the focal point in your cards
