Two cosy quilts.

Hi there!

My first memories of a quilt goes back a long long time.

My aunt made me and my 2 sisters each one a quilt... using pieces of fabric left over from dresses she made for others. Most of it she did without a sewing machine... yes by hand! Needless to say, my quilt is a possession very dear to my heart! We always had so much fun, trying to remember from  which dress every piece of fabric came.

My 2 cards today look a lot different than my usual style... I just felt like doing something different and covered the total card surface with pattern... and patterned paper.

The pattern is a quilt template downloaded from the internet and converted to a cutting file for my Silhouette.
Edited: I had a few enquiries about where I found the pattern...  you can find it HERE !

The different colors  used gives a whole different feel to each card!

My card will be entered to the challenge at Curtain call :

Thanks for visiting today!

WOW! These are gorgeous Hannelie. I love the patchwork effect design and wonderful colours.
I used to do patchwork with my Great-Gran when I was very young and have fond memories of cutting and sewing shapes from a variety of materials. I think that may be when my love craft and using beautiful patterns began.

What treasures those quilts must be, Hannelie, they sound so special! Your cards are gorgeous ... one cool and subtle, the other bold and vibrant ... and both so fabulous! Anita :)

Hi, vrou, hoop jy't 'n lekker naweek gehad!!
Regtig twee puik stukkies werk!! Wel gedaan!

What a fabulous design. It's nothing like the quilting I do but so unique. Good for you for doing something different. You and that Silhouette are doing wonderful work.

Wow! Changing up the colors and the patterns really does change the feel of the cards...one quite vintage, the other quite retro!

Love your creativity!

These cards are so striking Hannelie. I love the pattern and the patterned paper you have used.
I have had my Silhouette for a week, you have really inspired me to learn to use it.
